Aluminum Care
How do you treat rusting aluminum? You don’t because aluminum doesn’t rust! Still, aluminum is very prone to basically a non-destructive corrosion called corundum which leaves a very hard film with a white dull look. In the long run, corundum actually protects your aluminum.
What is very destructive for aluminum is pitting which forms in small weak sections of the corundum oxidation. Things like salt air near the beach and dust from a dessert can accumulate in spots becoming an active solution that attacks the aluminum. Coating your aluminum furniture with silicon spray or auto wax can prevent pitting.
